Consider joining the JDPEL Chapter of the Fresno State Alumni Association.  The dues are only $45 per year.  Ken Aldrich is the President of the JDPEL Alumni Chapter.  Dr. Aldrich is also a professor at Fresno State in the Kinesiology Department.  Send Ken your comments, questions, or ideas at kenneth_aldrich@csufresno.edu.

Another group you might wish to join is the JDPEL  Post Doctoral Research Group (PDRG).  This group has been meeting and working on research since May 2000.  Their first research project will result in a publication tentatively titled "Looking for Success."

The purpose of the study was to examine the work of valley educators in response to the implementation of the Academic Performance Index and its implication for all involved.  After surveying 118 schools in eight Central California counties, the PDRG selected six schools for in-depth site visitation.  Schools chosen for site visitation were identified because of high API increases and the expressed urgency for the improvement of school performance.  "Looking for Success" describes the efforts of valley educators to improve the achievement of their lowest scoring students.
